obesitytravels Silver play buttons take a ton of time to ship. I can't imagine they take long to make (it's just a warehouse full of those plaques, all they need to do it silkscreen on your name) but they probably don't want to give someone the button before they're comfortable above 100k in case they drop. And in terms of ads, he already made enough from Top Gear that he's probably set for life. It's respectable that James is doing this simply for the sake of entertainment.

Tip for anyone who cracks eggs: The easiest way to pick out pieces of broken eggshell from the egg whites is to use a large, unbroken piece of eggshell (usually from the same egg) to scoop it out. The broken piece of eggshell won't move about as much; and the larger piece of eggshell easily slips under it.

James May is one of the biggest faces in our generation. Top Gear was one of the largest and longest running shows with 350 Million viewers in 200 countries. The dude is one of the most famous people on this planet and worth $40 Million dollars. But here he is, making low quality KZitem videos about making eggs in his modest house in London because he is “unemployed”. If that doesn’t tell you how down to earth James May is, I don’t know what will. I bet this man goes to the post office and waits in line like everyone else to get stamps.

this take me back to the 70s also - my Mum had this type of pan to poach an egg too...... what was odd though, whenever we went swimming on a tuesday evenings once a week, i would get a craving for those poached eggs on toast on the way home...... maybe it was the chlorine, or just the exercise, but I still remember it now - pan poached eggs, brown toasted bread and white pepper .....

Youll want to not crack the egg on the side of a cup or plate. That how shell pieces "fall in". Gently crack it on the cutting board or counter. It wont shatter and run out and you will be able to crack it into the cup with out any shell!

Chef James - you are most impressive with your egg poaching technique - it looks so complicated - I have never poached an egg .... but I thought that eggs should be poached in water - think if they're cooked in a buttered receptacle in a water bath - as you have - technically they are "coddled" eggs .... could be wrong though!

General advice to those still in this comment section. If you crack your eggs on a flat surface before opening them over a cup, you'll never have bits of shell stuck in. It also lets you do that cool one handed egg opening thing.

I've got a better way of poaching eggs! Get a small ramekin, line with cling film, put an egg in the lined ramekin, gather the cling film together and twist so that egg is now enclosed in the cling film, put in boiling water for 5 minutes....and yer done son.
