BTW, some of the very best screwdrivers ever made were the VINTAGE North Bros. Yankee screwdriver line. (#90, #95 etc). The steel they used was unbelievable! and their wooden handles were also GREAT! I am a screwdriver fanatic and own Snap-on, Williams, Mac, etc. and for flat blades, my go to are my vintage Yankees.

First of all, thank you for the tip on the HF dead blow hammer. I will get one. Secondly, let me say that I really enjoyed this video. I honestly thought you were going to screw up the butt end of that handle on the lathe. It was foolish for me to doubt you. And third, I absolutely found value in the various suggestions of technique. I will save this video and refer to it often. Thanks for all the wonderful content you produce and the inspiration you provide.

So beautiful!! When I have end grain like that chipped up on a handle I like to saturate it in super glue. And do it in layers. Then sand it really nice and it turns out great. That way you don’t have to remove a bunch of material. But there are many ways to do it. I love the finish!! I’m going to experiment with that technique. That process my warrant it’s own video!!!! Great job man!!!!

Nice job with the screwdriver John. Good "tip" on the screwdriver tip. I'm guilty of sanding it on the flat. Then I dress the tip back to the right thickness. By the way , thanks for brainwashing me. Now I've started polishing up my tools at work. Guys just look at it and say its just going to get scratched up again. But that's alright. I'll just do it again. Thanks John! 😊

SC, there is a Company called Trusty- Cook that makes 100% of their products in the USA. They sell soft blow hammers and dead blow Ball Peens under their Trusty - Cook name and they also make them (same models) for many of the Tool Truck brands like Mac & Matco. They are 100% lifetime warranted and they are not expensive either! They are a little more than the HF Chinesium hammers but are much higher quality! I've worn out HF hammers quickly - and have had 3 Trusty Cook hammers for 4 years now and they barely have a scratch on them. They also run sales from time to time and often discount 3 hammer sets of your choice. PLEASE check them out - you won't be disappointed!
