Not some 12 minutes video repeating what everyone is saying but a long deep down review showing every details of the product. A bit of humor here and there, very good ligthing and set up which is pleasing to the eye. And then some real testing applications and comparisons. This is probably the 5th comment i do on any youtube video since like 20 years or something, but it's deserved. Good job

Congratulations, Nicky. You just got me to watch a feature-length special about autofocus. Fucking AUTO-FOCUS. ("Auto-Fuck-Us") I hate autofocus. I hate hearing about it. Yet I am now am seriously considering this. You are the first and only one to get me to do that. As per usual, but maybe even more so this time -- the division drops another the benchmark to measure all others by. DJI really has made a future-minded product, and it seems genuinely awesome. Honestly love how it has a peculiar sort of "common sense" about it. It seems timeless, inviting, and dare I say, maybe even fun? The magnetic "rubber band" resistance alone is genius. AND zooms? Sheeeeesh. Hilarious how the results absolutely obliterate every other autofuckus method out there. It's awesome how you answer literally every single question one could ask, and all the ones no one asks but should. I love how you ACTUALLY challenge the AF ... unlike every other KZitem fuck boi and his usual "walk 2 feet & stick my face in frame & bitch/look like a stupid ass crackhead" shtick. Thumbs up for Morty, and for Spike, and for the MoCo layers, for all the fucking Deloreans (sheesh dude, even the flux capacitor?) Dammit. For fucks sake. Look what you've done. Every single time I hear anyone talk about autofocus now, I'll be mad they aren't you. Cheers again good sir from LA. Soren.

I'm in the same boat... didn't like auto focus, didn't use auto focus unless I had to, didn't like the look or the artefacts, didn't like the lenses it requires... this is different. I finally remembered what this tutorial reminded me of... my last film-camera system... CONTAX, specifically the back-focusing Contax AX that brought autofocus to manual Zeiss lenses! The Contax AX is a 35mm single lens reflex film camera introduced by Kyocera in 1996. At the time of its introduction, the AX made camera headlines due to its unique ability to autofocus manual focus lenses. Although probably more technical than this, in a nutshell, AF was achieved by moving the film plane, the distance from lens to film. The official company description of this was “Automatic Back Focusing.” This was a remarkable achievement and still something unmatched in the camera world today.
@MediaDivision
4 ай бұрын
This work very very differently…… obviously. Back focussing does have limitations. Why would a Back Focusing AF be better than a regular AF?
@Bosnitch1
4 ай бұрын
@@MediaDivision The standard lens-controlled AF is of course much, much faster and more accurate, but the CONTAX AX back-focusing system allowed the Japanese engineers at Yashica to bring rudimentary autofocus to the many lenses in the existing manual-focus lines of Zeiss Contax, Zeiss Hasselblad (with mount adapter) and Yashica lenses that could fit on the AX camera body. Some of us who did not want to leave the Zeiss lenses behind used the AX before switching to the Canon EOS 5Dmkiii Digital (when CONTAX went out of business) because the Canon mount-to-image-plane was the shallowest of all and the manual Zeiss Contax lenses could be used with a Contax-Canon adapter... which has allowed me to still (!!!) use the same Zeiss lenses that I bought at age 17 in 1978 right up until today in 2024 (45 years later) on my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K! I greatly appreciated your recent reviews of some of those Contax Zeiss lenses! In fact, I also use them in matched duos to shoot stereo 3D cinema using two Cinema cameras... 🙂

Nice funny short video about the DJI Creator series 🤣 now who is the imposter here 🤣 Honestly it is worth the waiting of using LiDAR without using gimbal and it is huge for a lot of film maker and independent video creator, solo "gunner" , it is unbelievable. Surprisingly to say , if the camera sensitivity goes higher , the LiDAR should have no problem in almost almost pitch dark situation, those horror , night shoot and other type of dark genre got no problem for LiDAR. Insanely best review among all review , you bring out a lot of real world situation that translate how the LiDAR V2 works. Impressive. This is the standard.

Fantastic to see and hear. I have been so frustrated. Does the ecosystem work with the high-bright monitor handles? I have been suffering badly from the DJI rs3 pro, DJI transmission, DJI focus motor, DJI lidar, and cable hub. along with DJI high bright monitor handles and transmission so so many issues

Thanks Jamie, I don't know as I don't have them… my guess is as good as yours. Really, I used the same combo… if you know it it works quite well besides the obvious limitations like the 3 lens slots and the 12mm rod clamp that drove me bonkers. One thing was that the RS3 Pro and the transmission monitor permanently competed in the control mode… I guess that that is the reason why the new hub is missing the port for the grip altogether.

We should give credit to most Chinese companies entering the camera accessory field. They're very creative, attentive to feedback, and pretty nimble in terms of changing and updating their tech. Above all of that, they offer all their gear in mostly fair to cheap prices.

This is incredible work by you guys. Wow. To be honest, your work here almost overshadows DJI. I'm very interested, but man, they need to allow me to output that to my existing monitor. My eyes aren't so great for that tiny screen. Also, the USB-C connection should have been locking. But amazing gen 1, that's for sure.
@MediaDivision
Ай бұрын
Thanks al lot. If you work with it, you see that outputting to your exiting monitor only makes sense if it is a combined image like you have it with the Transmission. That hardware would cost a lot extra and it does make the setup cumbersome. Implementing the touch interface to of a random third party device would be next to impossible, so you would have to stick to the handgrip for control. I agree on the locking, but again, price matters and I never accidentally ripped a cable out, not even filming on a speed boat.
@dollhausenx
Ай бұрын
@@MediaDivision Thanks for that. I wasn't thinking of the touch interface, I was thinking more of watching two monitors while filming. I suppose one gets used to that. I don't care about the wireless control part, jjust like the handgrip. Hell, I like the idea of the handgrip without the lidar.

great video as usual - i wish you had a bit more testing about object focused locking - we do a lot of product shots, would be interessting how it locks to things beside people and cars
@MediaDivision
3 ай бұрын
Thanks... I don't think it is really designed nor good for that. use case. With products you are usually quite close and it is hard for any system to pick and hold onto the feature you are interested in for any given shot. Testing this to a useful extend would made this episode 30minutes longer on top.
