Robert takes a lot of meds at six different times throughout the day and he loves to count everything so that makes for a very long process. I haven’t yet been able to figure out his complicated counting process that he does on his fingers but I am fascinated by it. Maybe there’s a good code breaker out there to help me figure out his system!
Our dad was good at math (calculating his commissions!) and our Other Brother has always been a math wiz so it’s only fitting that Robert is interested in numbers.
Counting and checking the time is somewhat of an obsession of his. (Don’t even get me started on how the time change confuses him!)
Fun fact: Aside from enjoying word search puzzles Robert loves to do math worksheets. His Day Program sends them home with him and he carefully works on them (usually getting 100%).
This may not be entirely due to his epilepsy (although some of this behavior has been linked to Temporal Lobe Epilepsy) but it is a part of Robert’s life and who he is.
Now let’s figure out that finger counting system!
