As a GM who loves to homebrew, I'm becoming more and more interested in GURPS... Thanks!

GURPS is the ultimate homebrew system. I am writing a fantasy steampunk campaign.

My son has all the GURPs book and I have the Hero System 6ed. Please keep these kind of videos up! Your videos are so well done and easy to understand. These really help him and me understand each other games. You can’t believe how bad some of the other videos are. Keep up the good work!

Same comment across an entire trilogy of videos. That's one way to ensure I get the message! X3

I appreciate your content. I like reading all kinds of rpg and wargame systems but some of the details slip past me. These videos help me in my gaming education.

I love GURPS on the whole but have never run it because of how deadly it is. Could you please do a video on how long running games mitigate this or perhaps I'm misunderstanding something intrinsic. For example, I don't see how a super hero game is possible past a few combats unless everyone is Armored up somehow because even normal firearms will kill most heroes quite easily if they are hit not to mention what a hit from someone like the Hulk or Thanos would do to an X-Man etc. Thanks, I love the GURPS content.

Sounds like my next GURPS video is going to be their supers book.

For clarification though: It takes a long time for me to make videos. So it will be awhile till I can get to GURPS supers. (I do have one more GURPS video scheduled, though)

I won't be making a video on it, but I can answer the question on the basis of experience running long campaigns. 1. Not all campaigns involve lots of deadly situations! My present one (3yr) has involved diplomacy and investigation with a handful of instances of brutality, all the more striking because of the rarity. 2. A lot is setting-dependent, for some eras and history and some magic systems have weapon tech outpace armor or vice versa. Tweak to your preference. 3. Under GURPS rules it is easy to knock people out but actually hard to kill them, partly because they fall unconscious (and thus quit fighting) before they die. If adventurers have higher Health stats than average folks, and Luck to do-over their most critical die rolls, they should survive losing a fight most of the time, and hopefully they'll learn to mostly avoid fights they can't win. I tend to have the opposiyte problem, even though I run low-value characters: They're so powerful, the best way to challenge them with ordinary foes is to make them responsible to defend the weak. Then if one of their charges is killed, that counts as a loss but doesn't end a PC.
