This is incredible! Dedicated lifters can train their whole life and not achieve what this 19 year old has done so early on. It goes against the grain because there is a lack of mucle development on him yet his raw strength is undeniable. He may not be bodybuilding material but I hope this chap explores competitive powerlifting/strongman with this level of talent.

Not only do longer limbs (levers) help move weight in some instances, a smaller person has the same range of motion in proportion to a larger person, if not less. Usually the big guys have a thick chest and back and have LESS range of motion. Second, if you have ever taken a physics course you would know something about vectors. If he is rolling the bar towards him, the force is pulling at a 90 degree angle to the direction he is lifting, and does not contribute at all. Big boy, nice bench.

Continuing on from my previous post, the only reason why relative strength has a greater edge in people's mind is that they are insecure and they often try to find something to seek "strength" in even though they're smaller and weaker. (It's just my own belief. It may not be truth in some cases), It's a natural reaction which can be evidenced by several "pseudo-tough guys" trying to say they're stronger than a guy who battle against other 300 lbers who can bench press well over 400 lbs every day

When you can bench 500, doing singles with much lower weights does little to fatigue you, but I think you're correct that he should have done fewer. A better course would have been 405x2, 455x1, 475x1, 500x1. He had to bounce to get 495 and 500 so I wouldn't say he's good for 515 or 520, but 500 would have been less of a struggle.

This is impressive. I don't think this kid is on steroids, and though his form isn't perfect, he's lifting a shitload of weight at a very young age. (I'm 34 and can only get 350 up.) He's got monster genetics...
