I just found out 30 miles ago that Daddy Jack passed away earlier this year. In my industry we’ve lost some huge personalities this year too & to pop over to one of my top 5 cooking channels and see Jack’s daughters’ video a few moments ago just fills me with sadness at 4:30am on a blustery West Coast Washington morning. The best way to honor this bonafide local legend is to cook up some of his dishes. Don’t forget to add lots of love (and chopped green onion)💔 🥘 🔥

Jack often takes a taste right out of the pan, when it would be too hot for most people, plus he moves pans and plates in and out of the broiler with his bare hands, impervious to the heat. I guess a lifetime of working in a hot kitchen conditions people.
