Great info! I have some weight to lose. Alternate day fasting was exhausting. OMAD was stressful also. Found when I did eat. I would eat too much. But 2 meals and low carb is doing amazing healthy changes in my body. Weight loss yes, but inflammation is down and I just have a lot more energy at age 65. Thanks for the 2 meals a day videos. They have changed my life for the better.

Thanks so much. I’m glad it’s working for you. I also think it’s fine to add a protein shake in between the two meals as well just to make sure you’re keeping your protein up. You can do one scoop of a whey protein isolate 120 cal 25 g protein.

@@MikeCola yes on the added protein shake. Adding protein is really helping. I think women don't eat enough protein in general.

So true. I tried the OMAD only for a while. It worked at first. But then I found that by dinner time my metabolism had dropped and I was getting hangry by dinner time. Then I’d eat much more, although low carb and healthy. Now I do 5-6 of 2 meals a day and 1-2 of OMAD per week.

Would you count drinking AG1 or water with LMNT as breaking a fast? Or would it be ok to drink that in the morning and continue the fast till the 16/18/20hr goal time?

I’m 195 pounds so healthy lean I should be about 180. So I need around 180 grams of protein and if I get it from beef it says 1 pound is only 77grams and 800 calories. That’s 1600 for 2 pounds this doesn’t sound right I know I can eat chicken and fish also but I’m just trying to figure out what to eat. I like beef, chicken, tuna, fish, sardines for protein. And I like spinach and salad for my greens. I like oatmeal but on 2 meals a day I don’t think oatmeal fits into that cause with coconut oil and added stuff mine is like 300 calories so I now cut that out and eat lunch and dinner. I like apples to. This is hard for me to figure out what to eat without going high calorie

Stick to mostly protein and vegetables with maybe one fruit. When calculating calories with animal protein, it can vary tremendously based on how much fat is in the protein. You could also add a protein shake as a half meal. If you’re working out all the time 2.5 meals is totally acceptable to make sure you’re taking in enough protein. I hope this helps. Best- Mike

I eat brunch/lunch and dinner, I give myself a range so I can make it a lifestyle for the rest of my days, so my first meal is between 11am -1pm and second is between 6pm - 8pm so I don't think too much about it and just go about my day, if it's 10am in the morning and I feel hungry I tell myself it's just another hour then I can eat, some times when it reach 11am I don't even feel hungry anymore and end up eating at 12 or 1pm that way it's easier to stick to and also I try to be mindful but not count calories, just make sure my meals are balanced with carbs (brown rice, whole wheat pasta or potato etc) veggies and Protein, I also eat a normal portion of food even If I'm not the one who cooked the food and I don't know the calories, I don't pile food onto my plate or jump for the food scale. If I feel for a snack in the afternoon (3-5pm) I eat fruits melons are my favs (cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew etc) and berries. I try to exercise 3-4x a week for about 20-30 mins whether it's dancing or a workout on KZitem and I walk at minimum 7,000 steps a day, and last but not least sleep 7-8 hours every night.

would it be an easier route to first clean up your diet and get on a lower carb protocol without worrying about fasting so that you could get your body fat adapted? I thought that fasting would be much easier when your body isn't so dependent on carbs as a fuel source.
@MikeCola
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeffery, I do that with clients as well. I understand what you're saying. You won't be as hungry when fasting when you're somewhat fat adapted. I try to evaluate someone and see what I think will work best for them. But you do bring up a good point. Best - Mike
