He started getting permission first after an incident back in the days before his first LP, when he was still recording solo playing accordion in one of the Cal Poly men's rooms... All his stuff was played on the Dr. Demento radio show then, and he was a frequent live guest. He did a parody of Billy Joel's "It's still rock and roll to me" and called it "It's still Billy Joel to me" and nearly got sued. I heard it one time on Dr. Demento, then never again. Another interesting datum is that most of Al's backing band used to be staffers for the syndicated Dr. Demento show.

The first time I watched that song my stomach legit dropped as soon as the mood and the lighting changed. Its so well made. The camera zoom effect that looks like hes coming closer while the background is gettinng further away is my favourite thing about thw video. Mixed with the lights, the lyrics, the music effects and his look it was creepy as hell the first time I watched it. It was really cool seing your reaction to this

That's a classic Alfred Hitchcock camera move. Dolly forward with the camera, and zoom out at the same time. The person's face stays the same size but the background telescopes way out behind them. Hitchcock probably didn't invent it but he liked using it.

Used with the reverse of the zoom (zooming in instead of out) by Zoran Perisic in the front projection scenes in Superman, of course, with the front projector's zoom synchronized with the cameras, so that Superman appears to fly towards the camera while the background appears to stay the same size.

(THE DOORS & JOHN LEE HOOKER ROADHOUSE BLUES~ RARE STUDIO MIX ). i know you played the doors singing this song but this one is mixed with John Lee one of the great blues singer, if not this one maybe another by him. we need to hear more of these guys like him that inspired a lot of the great bands. he also made some great music with Canned Heat who played at woodstock which had one of the greatest harmonica players of blues named blind owl Wilson who died at an early age. thanks. i guess i am partial to groups like this since i am 74, so i was a young man at the time and it was exciting to see some of the birth of music that started a lot of what is played today.thanks💚

It's not the Illuminati, it's billionaires. The "Hamilton Polka" is awesome!!! Oh, and "The Saga Begins" about Obi-wan training Anakin Skywalker. And "I Perform This Way" about Lady Gaga. And "Tacky", which is an amazing one-shot video. Sorry, I grew up on Weird Al, from the time of "Rocky Road" and "My Bologna". I'm 46 now, and I still love his stuff! Weird Al still tours and still releases new stuff, which is an amazingly long career in music. Another thing that I love about Weird Al is that he's had the same group of guys in his band all these decades. He also has a lot of parodies of Micheal Jackson songs because reportedly MJ loved Weird Al's stuff. And if you ever watch the movie, "UHF", which Weird Al starred in, that is probably him at his most goofiest.

The only thing that makes me happier than Al, is watching someone getting the giggles watching him for the first time! It's even better when your reactor has such a wonderful laugh, you make me happy Jamal!
