Wow i wasn't expecting that! A nice surprise as i've been an Eminem fan since i was about 10 years old haha. Being a millennial myself i saw him on TV quite a lot, and that's how i became a fan (although i'm from the late millennial era, 1995). This album was indeed very nostalgic, and something interesting that i don't think you noticed, is when we hear Slim Shady talking on the album, his voice was actually changed through AI to recreate the voice of vintage Slim Shady. I mean he's 51 now, so he can't do the same voice he used to do when he was half that age, and AI is a good tool for that immersion factor. And BTW you were wondering about the horse noises in Brand New Dance, it's because the song is about Christopher Reeve, who notoriously became paraplegic in a horse riding accident. Typical Slim Shady stuff really, and the song itself was recorded for his 2004 album "Encore", but he didn't put it in at the time, cause Chris died, and it would've been disrespectful. But anyway, great video as always, cheers!

You have the best off the wall Gilbert lessons. Most lessons are the same licks over and over or are of his two note string skipping licks. You have those signature licks not often talked about. I had to learn these by ear and slowing down Paul's videos. Had I stumbled across your channel first, life would've been easier 😆🤘

With just a bass, a guitar and a drum ,they are producing so much unique sounds and techniques out of 3 individuals that even a 9 man overrated band like Slipknot can ever dream of.

This is just silly mate, if you follow that thought through then no one is allowed to comment on anything... We'd have to like every film, song, piece of art and even opinions from anyone who is more experienced in their craft than us. Your comment breaks your own logic here.

Sounds really good from the video, nice range of tones. I was almost going to buy one of these, but decided to go down the parts-caster route and make my own. I now have a truely unique guitar, but self-builds don't save any money over these now quite decent budget guitars.

For sure, it's really solid for the price, but if you wanted a more unique and customised guitar that parts-caster path is totally the right call. Hope you have a blast putting it together and playing it!

Interesting video, thanks for your views. I have occasional wrist pain and problems with flying fingers when playing scales or fast riffs etc. Many other sites say that thumb placement can cause these issues for me and that your thumb should not be pointing down the neck towards the nut and headstock, but as close as parallel to frets as possible behind the 1st or 2nd finger. While I dont point my thumb direct down the neck, it is often tilted that way. You are the first person i seen that says that is ok, thanks maybe i not the bad after all, but still have problems with flying fingers to sought out. I guess what is most comfortable should be a major factor to consider in thumb placement.

I've watched many many videos about this in the 20 or so years I've had a JS guitar, including one by Dimebag Darrell, even Joe himself, and none have been as good as this. Very clear explanation, without any assumptions on what the viewer might already know.

To backup your point about how people seem to like it a little messy on guitar you made around 10:30, I have noticed that some of people's favorite moments in some of the best vocal performances ever like Marvin Gaye's through the grapevine are due to the fact that the high notes are just a jair below his break so his voice doesn't hit it easily, you can hear him straining and maybe only hitting it with 90% accuracy for the duration of that note.

This dude does not get Eddie Van Halen. All he talks about is how it would be easier. Eddie made his own sounds with NO PEDALS or other cheap gimmickry. He became one with his guitar and amp, and innovated like no other, and YOU benefit from his genius.
