Ingredients:
Basmati rice - 350 grams
Wash and soak for 30 minutes.
Bay leaf - 1
Star Anise - 1
Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
Green Cardamom - 3
Cloves - 4
Onion(Chopped) - 1 big size
Tomato(Chopped)- 1 small size
Carrot(Cut)- 1 medium size
Beans(Cut) 10-12
Potato - 2 small size
Green peas - 75 gms
Green chillies - 3
Coriander leaves - half cup
Salt - 1 to 2 tsp (As per taste)
Garlic 7-8 cloves
Ginger - 2 inch.
Lemon juice - 1/2 lemon
Method:
1. Add Coriander leaves,Green Chillies,Ginger and Garlic to a mixer jar.
2. Add little water and make a fine paste.
3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a vessel.
4. Add all the whole garam masala.
Fry for 2 minutes.
5. Add onion and fry for 4-5 minutes.
6. Now add
Potatoes, Carrots, Beans, Green peas, Tomatoes & add salt.
7. Mix well and fry for 5 minutes.
8. After 5 minutes add the masala, add little water
9. Cook for good 10 minutes.
10. Now add soaked rice & add 3 cups of water in the same measurement cup we measured rice (2 cups rice:3 cups water ratio).
11. Add 1/2 tsp salt.
12. Mix gently
13. Add lemon juice.
14. Cook for 15 minutes.
15. Keep checking water in between.
16. After 15 minutes close the lid and cook for 10 more minutes on low flame(no whistle required)
17. Switch off the flame and let it sit for 10 more minutes.
18. Open the lid and garnish with coriander leaves.
19. Fluffy, tasty pulao ready to eat.
